For that price, go for it! It’s an awesome deal for sure, esepcially since it’s in CAD! We never got this engine in Japan actually (13b NA) and with a bit of work the car could certainly be as fast a stock 12a-turbo! So really, if you can afford buying it on the spot, do it! You won’t regret it at all!

I’m gonna try and set up a time to see it tomorrow, unfortunately I can’t get out of work, so I’m relying on it being over and our out of town to discourage people from snapping it up.

For sure! I’ve been dying to have a manual car again, and my girlfriend always points out how much she likes RX-7s....would be a cool thing on several levels

The things that failed on mine (do it do it do it): brake calipers and engine timing. I was 19, and all worth it.

They are awesome cars!
My car has 85000km on the clock and is quite modifed and lightened with old RE-Amemiya parts, but sometimes I wish I had an NA sideport SA22C instead of a turbo’d one. My dream these days would be to get a rolling chassis and throw in a sideported 20b NA engine in there, making maybe 220 to 240hp and massive suspension work to get the perfect trackday car.
Hopefully I can do that someday :)

I have one that I will be tearing down this summer for a rebuild. It is in relatively the same shape.
I will flag your post and send you some resources I was passed down through the community.

I’d have a very hard time not picking that up.
Na 13b engines are just as reliable as any other engine from the 80s.
My first NA made it to 168k before it started having issues with the coolant seals. Probably could have went another 10k. But I had the resources to just pull it and rebuild it. I beat the absolute shit out of that car too.

Five letter car so you get an EFI 13b, a more common bolt pattern for the hubs, clutch-type LSD, rear discs, oil cooler, and a couple of luxury goodies. With the low weight, 50:50 weight distribution, and tail-happy live rear axle, they’re very lively and eager cars when pushed. Very nice price, especially if it has the upgrades stated in the ad.

The best one is always the 2002 Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) Spirit R Type-A in Innocent Blue Mica
